Search the Contents of the SEP and IEP

This is a new feature in 2007. Using a custom search engine from Google, you can now search the contents of the 1,200+ entries from the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (SEP) and the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy (IEP). Give it a try!

This version includes entries from the SEP and IEP, but also includes hand-picked philosophy related entries at other encyclopedias, such as Wikipedia, Encarta, and more -- over 2,700 entries in all.

This section provides a searchable database of over 3,000 links to categorized philosophy-related entries at encyclopedias and similar reference sites. This includes general encyclopedias such as Wikipedia and Britannica, as well as philosophy-specific resources (SEP, IEP, REP). The results are sortable by entry title and by resource name. You can search by philosopher, topic, and initial of the entry title (all names are last-name first). Please note that additional, shorter reference materials (such as brief philosopher biographies) are often provided in the main search results for each philosopher.
