EpistemeLinks Privacy PolicyThis privacy policy statement explains what information is obtained from visitors to EpistemeLinks, and under what circumstances that information is obtained. It also explains how that information is or is not used. Links to Other SitesEpistemeLinks has a database of over 19,000 links to other philosophy resources. These other sites are independent of EpistemeLinks. If you are concerned about the privacy of your information, you should read the privacy statements of those sites as well, as they may differ from that of EpistemeLinks. The same is true for sites that appear as sponsors at EpistemeLinks, or that are advertising affiliates (e.g., Amazon, Google). Site SubmissionsThere are numerous Web forms that can be used to submit sites for consideration for inclusion in the EpistemeLinks database. You can submit your own site, or someone else's resource. Regardless, when you submit a site, you are asked to provide your name and email address. This is done in case I need to follow up with a question about the resource you are suggesting. In the case where the resource is your own (e.g., professor or graduate student homepage), or in the case where you are a representative of the site (e.g., university department chairman or contact person, organization contact person, etc.), your name and email address will be stored in the EpistemeLinks database with that record. The email addresses are not displayed on the EpistemeLinks site. Contact by EmailIf you email EpistemeLinks with a question, a site suggestion, or for any other reason, your address will be retained in order to reply to our email. I do not share this information with third parties. EpistemeLinks Online StoreThe EpistemeLinks Online Store is operated by CafePress.com. As a result, I have very limited access to information about purchases made. I am able to run reports that provide the name and location of the people who place orders, what was ordered, the date, and so on. I do not have access to email addresses, credit card information, or other more sensitive personal information. Cookies at EpistemeLinksAnonymous session cookies that the ASP.NET platform uses to track visit sessions are used, but no personally-identifying or sensitive information is stored in EpistemeLinks cookies. |
