Environmental Philosophy and Ethics

Journals Results

Your search has returned the following journals:

Agriculture and Human Values
Publisher: Kluwer
Description: Journal of the Agriculture, Food, and Human Values Society. The journal seeks to create educational and scholarly junctures among the humanities, the social sciences, food and nutrition studies, and the agricultural disciplines, and to promote an ethical, social, and biological understanding of agriculture. Contributions on a broad range of topics relating to the main theme are welcome. They should be addressed to a general academic readership while maintaining high standards of scholarship.

Earth Ethics Quarterly
Description: Earth Ethics publishes the best thinking in emerging earth ethics. Articles focus on sustainable practices in education, religion, the arts, business, agriculture, and other fields. Writers provide updates on international forums which are challenging current economic and development practices. The journal promotes alternative models for sustainable communities and lifestyles, based in ecospiritual practice and principles. Book reviews, event calendars, and feature articles bring fresh resources for those wishing to accelerate our transition to a just and sustainable future.

Environment and History
Description: Environment and History is an interdisciplinary journal which aims to bring scholars in the humanities and biological sciences closer together, with the deliberate intention of constructing long and well-founded perspectives on present day environmental problems.

Environmental Ethics
Description: Environmental Ethics is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the philosophical aspects of environmental problems.

Environmental Politics
Publisher: Taylor and Francis
Description: "Environmental Politics is concerned with four particular aspects of the study of environmental politics, with a primary, though not exclusive, focus on the industralised countries. First, it examines the evolution of environmental movements and parties. Second, it provides analysis of the making and implementation of public policy in the area of the environment at international, national and local levels. Third, it carries comment on ideas generated by the various environmental movements and organisations, and by individual theorists. Fourth, it aims to cover the international environmental issues which are of increasing salience. Its coverage of the developing world does not reach beyond this to the affairs of individual countries, partly because of the journal's chosen focus and partly because of the number of existing journals dealing with development. Environmental Politics is sensitive to the distinction between goals of conservation and of a radical reordering of political and social preferences, and aims to explore the interface between these goals, rather than to favour any one position in contemporary debates."

Environmental Values
Description: Environmental Values is concerned with the basis and justification of environmental policy. It aims to bring together contributions from philosophy, law, economics and other disciplines, which relate to the present and future environment of humans and other species; and to clarify the relationship between practical policy issues and more fundamental underlying principles or assumptions.

Ethics and the Environment
Publisher: Indiana University Press
Description: Ethics and the Environment is a new, interdisciplinary forum for theoretical and practical articles, discussions, reviews, comments, and book reviews in the broad area encompassed by environmental ethics. Supported by the Humanities Centre, the Philosophy Department, and the Environmental Ethics Certificate Program at the University of Georgia, and edited by Victoria Davion, Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy, the journal will focus on conceptual approaches in ethical theory and ecological philosophy, including deep ecology and ecological feminism as they pertain to environmental issues such as environmental education and management, ecological economics, and ecosystem health.

Ethics in Science and Environmental Politics
Description: "ESEP provides a global stage for presenting, discussing and developing the new ethical constructs of eco-ethics and econ-ethics — their bearing on science and politics, and their significance for the future development of nature and humanity."

Ethics, Place and Environment
Publisher: Taylor and Francis
Description: The central aim of Ethics, Place and Environment is to provide a forum for the publication of research and scholarship on all aspects of geographical and environmental ethics. The use of the word 'place' highlights geographers' concerns with the interaction between peoples and environments that creates particular places. 'Environment' is used in a very broad sense to emphasise not only physical and biological environments, but also social and cultural environments. Geographers working on ethical issues have been concerned with a wide range of subjects, from animal rights, to questions of justice in urban society, development ethics, cartography, and the construction of cultural values.

Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Ethics
Publisher: Kluwer
Description: The Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Ethics welcomes articles on ethical issues confronting agriculture, food production and environmental concerns. The goal of this journal is to create a forum for discussion of moral issues arising from actual or projected social policies in regard to a wide range of questions. Among these are ethical questions concerning the responsibilities of agricultural producers, the assessment of technological changes affecting farm populations, the utilization of farmland and other resources, the deployment of intensive agriculture, the modification of ecosystems, animal welfare, the professional responsibilities of agrologists, veterinarians, or food scientists, the use of biotechnology, the safety, availability, and affordability of food.
