Philosopher Image Sources and Credits

Many of the pages at EpistemeLinks have an image of a philosopher near the top of the page. To the best of my knowledge these images are all in the public domain. If I have infringed anyone's copyright on a particular portrait or photograph, please let me know and I will immediately remove the image from the site.

The images on this site are small thumbnails of generally larger portraits or photos. I do not have larger versions of these images to provide you, nor do I have additional information about any images. If you are interested in images of a particular philosopher, I suggest you use the Images section of this site to search either in specialized galleries or at search engines such as Google—you can often find dozens of images very quickly this way.

Image Sources

The images for the following philosophers are versions of those provided by Thoemmes Continuum gallery, a wonderful resource that provides hundreds of images of philosophers and other intellectuals throughout history.

The following images were copied from Wikipedia, where it was stated they are in the public domain and where it seemed reasonable to think this was correct.

Any other philosopher thumbnail images were obtained from various sources on the internet. I do not have records for each of these images. I assume that they are all in the public domain, as they are all images of long-dead philosophers. No copyright violation is intended. If you are the owner of one of these images, or know that it is still under copyright, please let me know and I will remove it from my site.
